Organ Funding Project at St Peter's Church, Riga

EVERYONE HAS A HAND TO LEND TO MAKE GREAT WORK GO FORWARD!

(RAINIS)

Rainis' words are more than just important for the realization of the organ reconstruction project. The reconstruction of the organ in St Peter's Church in Riga is a project close to my heart!

The Project

The new organ will be modelled closely on the beautiful, original 1734 instrument which was admired throughout Latvia and beyond. J.S. Bach's last student, Johann Gottfried Muthel travelled specially from Germany to Riga to see and play on this organ. Muthel is believed to have notated some of Bach's final works.

To see this project reach fruition is something I strongly wish to happen in my lifetime. However, achieving this requires 1 million euros - half the total cost - the other half being funded by the Carl Bechstein Foundation. We need much help but, I believe this is a wonderful opportunity to recreate something of beauty and value to be appreciated and enjoyed for generations to come.

Any donation, big or small, will help achieve this goal.

In acknowledgement,

Anete Graudina
