Violinist

Biography

Anete Graudina is a Latvian-born violinist and music educator known for her expressive performances and dedication to nurturing the next generation of musicians. Born in Riga, Latvia, she began her musical studies at a specialized music school in her hometown before continuing her education in Moscow. These formative years helped shape her distinctive musical voice and technical proficiency.

Her professional career started with a position in the Orchestra of the Latvian Opera and Ballet. In 1995, Graudina moved to London, where she has since built a multifaceted career as a performer, recording artist, ensemble founder, and teacher.

Graudina has performed extensively throughout Europe, Russia, North America, and Asia. In the UK, she has appeared at renowned venues such as the Holywell Music Room in Oxford, St James’s Church in Piccadilly, Burgh House in Hampstead, and the Edinburgh Festival.

In 2003, she founded the ensemble Tangissimo, focusing on the passionate and rhythmically vibrant music of Astor Piazzolla. Her collaborations have led to several well-received recordings, including Romantic Bartók (2006) and Taming of the Shrew (2016), A Voice Immortal (2019) where she worked with pianists Aya Kawabata and Florian Mitrea and Christopher Williams.

Aside from performing, Anete is an active music educator and organizer. She has led initiatives like annual fundraising concerts at St Anne’s Church in Kew and a concert series at the Latvian Embassy in London, titled Music for Our Souls, which gives young and emerging musicians a platform to perform.

She holds a postgraduate diploma in performance from the London College of Music and Media and has continued to contribute to London’s vibrant musical landscape through teaching, mentoring, and community engagement.

Teaching

For Anete Graudina, teaching music to children is not just part of her career — it is a true calling. With every lesson, she brings warmth, patience, and a spark of inspiration, nurturing not only musical skills but the imagination and confidence of every child she teaches. Her approach is filled with joy, curiosity, and respect for the individuality of each young musician.

Anete believes that music has the power to shape a child’s world — to open hearts, sharpen minds, and give voice to emotions that words cannot reach. She strives to make every lesson magical, weaving creativity and play into a strong classical foundation. Whether it’s a simple scale or the first notes of a new piece, she celebrates every milestone with genuine enthusiasm and care.

What truly sets Anete apart is her ability to connect. She listens, she encourages, and she believes in her students — sometimes even before they believe in themselves. Her lessons are often filled with laughter, discovery, and those special moments when something just clicks.

Anete also gives her students the opportunity to grow beyond the classroom. She organizes concerts and group performances that give even the youngest musicians a chance to shine on stage — building courage, pride, and a sense of community through shared musical experiences.

To Anete, teaching children is more than passing on technique — it’s about lighting a fire. A fire for music, for self-expression, and for the lifelong journey of learning. Through her passion and dedication, she is shaping not just musicians, but confident, creative, and open-hearted human beings.

Organ Funding Project at St Peter's Church, Riga

EVERYONE HAS A HAND TO LEND TO MAKE GREAT WORK GO FORWARD!

(RAINIS)

Rainis' words are more than just important for the realization of the organ reconstruction project. The reconstruction of the organ in St Peter's Church in Riga is a project close to my heart!

The Project

The new organ will be modelled closely on the beautiful, original 1734 instrument which was admired throughout Latvia and beyond. J.S. Bach's last student, Johann Gottfried Muthel travelled specially from Germany to Riga to see and play on this organ. Muthel is believed to have notated some of Bach's final works.

To see this project reach fruition is something I strongly wish to happen in my lifetime. However, achieving this requires 1 million euros - half the total cost - the other half being funded by the Carl Bechstein Foundation. We need much help but, I believe this is a wonderful opportunity to recreate something of beauty and value to be appreciated and enjoyed for generations to come.

Any donation, big or small, will help achieve this goal.

In acknowledgement,

Anete Graudina
